Privacy Policy
AR Talk Back, provided by Signal Craft Software ("AR Talk Back," "Talk Back," "we," "us," or "our") provides AI-powered conversations, augmented reality character experiences, communication tools, voice features, and related services.
This Privacy Policy explains what information AR Talk Back accesses and collects, how that information is used, and the services involved in processing it.
1. Information You Provide
AR Talk Back may process content that you voluntarily provide while using the app, including:
- Questions and messages you type into the app
- Speech converted into text through your device's speech-recognition service
- Conversations or other text that you paste into the app
- Text extracted from images or screenshots using on-device text recognition
- Text read from supported files selected by you
- Content submitted to features such as Talk Back, Roast Me, Relationship Translator, What Should I Say?, Personality Analysis, Roleplay Scenarios, Dream Decoder, and similar AI-powered features
When you submit content to an AI-powered feature, the resulting text is transmitted securely to our backend service and processed to generate a response.
AR Talk Back does not require you to create an AR Talk Back account to use these features.
2. Microphone and Speech Recognition
AR Talk Back may request access to your microphone when you choose to use voice input.
On Android, speech input may be processed by the speech-recognition service available on your device, such as Google Speech Services or another recognition provider. Microphone audio may therefore be transmitted to that speech-recognition provider to convert your speech into text.
AR Talk Back's own backend receives the resulting text and does not receive or store the original microphone recording.
You may choose to type instead of using voice input where text input is available.
3. Images, Screenshots, and Files
AR Talk Back allows you to select images, screenshots, and certain supported text files for features that analyze written content.
For images and screenshots, text recognition is performed on the device. The selected image itself is not uploaded to our AI backend. The text extracted from the image may be transmitted when you choose to submit it to an AI-powered feature.
Supported text files are read on the device. The file itself is not uploaded to our AI backend. Text read from the file may be transmitted when you choose to submit it to an AI-powered feature.
4. AI Processing
AR Talk Back uses artificial intelligence to generate character conversations, responses, suggestions, interpretations, and other app functionality.
Text submitted to AI-powered features is transmitted to our backend infrastructure and may be processed by service providers acting on our behalf, including AI providers such as OpenAI, for the purpose of generating the requested response.
We do not sell your conversations.
We do not use your conversations to train our own public AI model. Third-party providers process information according to their applicable terms, privacy policies, and service configurations.
5. Voice Generation
AR Talk Back may use ElevenLabs or similar text-to-speech technology to generate character voices.
When voice playback is enabled, text associated with an AI-generated character response may be transmitted for speech synthesis. This produces the character audio played by the app.
This is separate from the user's microphone recording.
6. Augmented Reality and Camera Access
AR Talk Back may request camera access to provide augmented reality features and place virtual characters in the user's physical environment.
Camera access is used for AR functionality. AR Talk Back's AI backend does not receive or store camera video or AR camera frames as part of the AI conversation request.
7. How We Use Information
Information processed through AR Talk Back is used to:
- Provide AI-generated responses and app functionality
- Convert speech into text when voice input is requested
- Generate character speech and voice playback
- Provide augmented reality experiences
- Process text voluntarily submitted to communication and analysis features
- Maintain, secure, troubleshoot, and operate the service
- Verify subscriptions, restore access, and enforce usage limits
We do not use submitted conversations for advertising or marketing profiling.
8. Service Providers
AR Talk Back relies on service providers to operate certain features. These may include:
- Hosting and backend infrastructure providers
- AI processing providers
- Speech-recognition services available through the user's device
- Text-to-speech providers
- Apple and Google for purchases, subscriptions, distribution, and platform services
These providers may process information as necessary to provide their respective services and are subject to their own privacy and data-handling obligations.
9. Data Retention
AR Talk Back does not maintain a cloud conversation-history account for users.
User-generated text submitted to our backend may temporarily appear in operational server logs and may also be subject to the retention practices of infrastructure and AI service providers.
We retain or permit retention of this information only as necessary to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and provide the service, subject to applicable provider policies and legal obligations.
Session, interaction, and subscription-verification records are used to operate access controls, verify entitlements, and prevent abuse. A lack of a registered user account does not mean that our backend processes no identifiers or purchase information. Retention depends on the purpose of the record, subscription status, applicable provider practices, and any legal or security need.
Some app preferences and feature history are stored locally on your device. On Android, saved Roast Me and Personality Analysis history can be deleted in their respective history screens. Clearing the app's storage in Android Settings removes local app data; operating-system backups may retain separate copies.
Removing the app may remove locally stored app data, subject to operating-system backup and restoration features.
10. Data Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information processed through AR Talk Back.
Network communications with our backend services use encrypted HTTPS connections.
No method of electronic transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
11. Purchases and Subscriptions
Purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store or Google through Google Play, depending on the platform.
On Android, our backend receives an app session identifier, Google Play purchase token, product identifier, and app package name to verify purchases, restore subscription access, and determine access to paid features. Requests also include session authentication and interaction identifiers to authorize requests and enforce usage limits. A session identifier is not an account you register with an email address or password.
AR Talk Back does not receive or store your full payment-card information.
Apple or Google processes payment information according to its own privacy practices.
12. Adults Only
AR Talk Back is intended for users age 18 and older and is not intended for children.
We do not knowingly design the service to collect personal information from children.
13. Your Choices and Data Requests
You can control camera and microphone permissions through your device settings.
You can request deletion of identifiable records we can reasonably locate, including relevant operational logs and session or subscription-verification information, by emailing support@artalkback.com. We may need information to locate and verify the request. Do not send passwords, authentication tokens, or payment-card details.
As described on our Data Deletion page, we aim to complete verified deletion requests within 30 days. Limited records may be retained for legal compliance, security, or fraud prevention; third-party copies are subject to applicable provider retention practices. Removing local app data does not automatically delete backend records, cancel a subscription, or delete Apple or Google purchase history.
If you believe information associated with you has been retained by our systems, or you would like to make a privacy or deletion request, contact us at the address below. You can also review our Data Deletion page.
14. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as AR Talk Back changes or as legal and platform requirements evolve.
When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date and make the revised policy available through our website and/or app.
