Data Deletion
1. Overview
AR Talk Back (Talk Back) respects your right to control your personal information. This page explains how to delete data stored in the app and how to request deletion of data we hold on our servers.
2. Delete Data in the App
You can remove many types of data yourself at any time:
- Open AR Talk Back on your iPhone or iPad.
- Go to Settings in the app.
- Delete journal entries, saved readings, and other stored content using the available delete options.
Deleting content in Settings removes it from your account and associated cloud storage where applicable.
3. Request Full Account & Data Deletion
To request deletion of your account and all associated personal data held by us, email:
Please include:
- The subject line: Data Deletion Request
- The email address associated with your Talk Back account (if any)
- Your Apple ID email or App Store purchase email, if different
- Any other details that help us locate your data (e.g. display name)
We may ask you to verify ownership of the account before completing the request.
4. What We Delete
When a verified deletion request is processed, we delete or irreversibly anonymize:
- Account and profile information
- Journal entries and saved readings stored in our cloud
- Conversation history and related preferences tied to your account
- Other personal data we collected to provide the service
5. What We May Retain
We may retain limited information when required by law or for legitimate business purposes, such as:
- Records needed for tax, accounting, or legal compliance
- Fraud prevention or security logs (retained only as long as necessary)
- Aggregated or anonymized data that cannot reasonably identify you
App Store billing and subscription records are managed by Apple. Cancel or manage subscriptions in your Apple ID settings; we cannot delete Apple’s purchase history.
6. Processing Time
We aim to confirm receipt of your request within a few business days and complete deletion within 30 days of verification, unless a longer period is required by law.
7. Uninstalling the App
Deleting the AR Talk Back app from your device removes local data stored on that device. It does not automatically delete cloud-stored account data. Use in-app deletion or email a deletion request as described above if you want server-side data removed.
